Technical approach | We elected to build our evaluation agent outside of the MOO, as a robot that logs into the MOO and monitors student activities. This gave us a great deal of freedom in implementation. |
Technical challenges | The major technical challenges arose due to the distributed nature of the components and the high bandwidth required to support the detailed reporting on the progress of the simulation. |
Hard/New/Different | What is new and different about this system was the Web-centric nature of the real-time student modeling. Not only was the system distributed across the web but, in real time, the model was able to notify a teacher via email that a student was having problems. |
